About Us

Wrimos.net is a website for writers. We came into being in October 2007, as the NaNoWriMo community was preparing for its 8th year. Designed primarily to help new writers during the chaos and confusion of NaNoWriMo, we also offer year-round support for anyone who needs it. While we currently do not offer focused support for other NaNo-inspired programs (WriYe, NaNoEdMo, or Script Frenzy), we plan on extending that support in the future.

What, specifically, do we do?
We offer writing help, start to finish. From planning your novel to editing and sending off a manuscript, we provide useful links, advice columns and resources to help you reach your goal. Whether it's finishing a short story, writing 50,000 words in a month or finally getting your name in print, we'll show you the way.

Some of our current offerings include the Wrimo Links Library, the "Wrimo Planet" blog aggregator, and advice columns. We also supply novel backups and editing through Subversion, a handy tool which allows you fast online access to your novel for editing on the go!

Wrimos.net is run by HedgeMage and her phenomenal volunteer staff.

curiosity is known for her unique ability to test an individual's grasp of sarcasm and irony. Now curator of the wrimos.net Links Library, curiosity has been NaNo-ing since 2003. Embarrassingly, not a single word was written that first year. Since then, the goal hasn't been 50k. It's been 100k or 150k. Talk about over-compensating!

pherring, when we can catch him, keeps the Contributor Handbook in shape so that content contributors past and future have up-to-date instructions and other important information at their fingertips.

TMH moderates the Wrimos.net prompts database. Thanks to his tireless effort, user-submitted writing prompts are sorted and published to help you find inspiration, day or night.

Faerunner joined the team in 2010 after curiosity begged for more content. She loves twice-baked macaroni and cheese, home-grown heirloom tomatoes, and the whooshing sound deadlines make as they go by (but only when they don't spill her tea on the way past). Her contributions to Wrimos.net include this About page and some vague offers of contributing to the advice blogs. She's been NaNo-ing since 2003 and has found every possible way to fail, so she knows what she's doing by now.

RogueCooper is the resident gay smut aficionado. He has published three gay romance stories - two with Dreamspinner Press and one with Silver Publishing. He also works as an editor for four different publishing houses. He currently runs the 'Ask an Editor' column here at Wrimos.net where you can ask him any grammar/editing or publishing related questions. He has been doing (and winning) NaNoWriMo since 2008.

Kamigoroshi and sushimustwrite were instrumental in the 2010 site renovation, but were unable (or unwilling) to provide bios at this time.
