New Feature!

Tagged:  •

Wrimos.net doesn't sleep in the off season. Introducing the first of several new features planned for 2008: our writing prompt database. The default is to present you with a random writing prompt selected from the whole database. However, you can also choose the type of prompt you'd like:

Incidental writing prompts give a gentle nudge to a story already underway.
Writing prompts with the "basis" tag are designed to help prompt new story concepts.
Challenge prompts are outrageous fun for write-ins, word wars, and beyond!

Special thanks to TMH for helping moderate writing prompt submissions.

So far, the database itself is quite sparse, so please submit any prompts you can think of to help fellow WriMos make rubble from stubborn writer's block!

Wrimos.net Infrastructure Mailing List

Today I created the Wrimos.net Infrastructure Mailing List.

The wrimos.net staff use this list to coordinate work on the wrimos.net web site. Members of the public who are interested in keeping up on changes to the web site and/or offering input are welcome to join as well.

Welcome, SarahJanet!

Wrimo and Municipal Liaison SarahJanet has joined the wrimos.net staff as our first columnist. Send us your NaNoWriMo-related questions and you may see one of them answered in "Ask the ML", coming soon to wrimos.net!

Thank you, SarahJanet, for bringing your experience and wisdom to the wrimos.net family.

New Features

New features are in the works here at wrimos.net!

Curiosity is hard at work building up the links library. If you have a link to a great writing resource that we haven't listed yet, please contact us and let us know.

The downloads section is on its way. If you have a favorite flyer, progress spreadsheet, icon, banner, or other NaNoWriMo-related file that you would like to share with the community, you can contact us to get your own download page and issue tracker.

Welcome, curiosity!

NaNoWriMo veteran curiosity has graciously volunteered to be the wrimos.net Links Goddess. She will judiciously oversee the listing of web sites in the wrimos.net Links Library (coming soon), helping us to insure that this list of writerly goodies stays as well-organized and up-to-date as possible.

Thanks, curiosity!

Alpha Launch!

Welcome to Wrimos.net. This site is still in alpha (the first stage of testing, while things are still being built), so please bear with me. I'm sure there will be bugs, and many things aren't done yet.

Last year was my first year doing nanowrimo. One way that I contributed to the community was by providing revision control repositories for some of the other participants. This year, I'm taking it a step further by creating wrimos.net -- an attempt to gather as many unofficial NaNoWriMo resources in one place as possible. This should make things easier to find, and get the things that have so far been passed around at write-ins and via email up where any nano-er can download them.
